The Junk Design was founded in 2021 by architect and designer Tarık Rasim Nomer. While studying in Milan, Tarık Rasim Nomer was inspired by design and fashion events and deeply understood the importance of sustainable fashion. In order to take a stand against fast fashion and reduce environmental impact, he launched The Junk brand, which produces stylish and eco-friendly bags from waste materials. As the first and only upcycling fashion brand in Turkey that produces bags from materials such as truck tarpaulins, fire hoses and seat belts, it is a pioneer in the sector by bringing together sustainability and innovative design.

Made from durable and strong upcycled materials, our unique bags are sturdy enough to be used for years. Each bag carries traces of the materials’ past, and these traces create the bag’s character. Made from upcycled truck tarps, fire hoses and seat belts, the bags are not only functional, they are also unique works of art. The originality of our designs comes from the fact that each bag is unique. Therefore, The Junk bags are not just accessories, they are also storytellers.
